Saddlebag Speaker Replacement Options???
« on: August 21, 2016, 04:57:39 PM »

I'm looking for some advice on changing out my saddlebag speakers on my 13 Road Glide Custom. I have a bad speaker in one of my saddlebags and I'm looking to buy a pair of stock speakers that somebody might have laying around that upgraded from the stock ones. I have a post in the WTB section, but I am thinking of upgrading myself and checking out my options at this point. I'm looking for something that'll work with my stock grills and fit in the same space without leaking issues that sounds better than stock. I had a Hawgwired complete setup in my 2004 SEEG and really was happy with it. Also, I was super impressed with Hawgwired's customer service. They stand behind their product and even sent me a few replacement crossovers long after the warranty ran out so I kinda feel obligated to keep supporting them. I saw the hogtunes speakers have a 20 year warranty which is really good too. Just wondering, what else sounds good that will work in my bags without any issues.

Thanks For Any Help or Advice,

Dean

I know I picked a bad time for advice with the new cvo's and motors being announced this week, but I'm still looking for a little advice on aftermarket speaker options. I'm not ready to trade mine in yet due to a blown speaker. Has anybody changed out their saddlebag speakers for something better then the stock ones that came in the 2013 models?

Thanks In Advance For Any Feedback,

Dean

I have not changed mine out yet but when I do it will be with Focal speakers from soundzcustoms.com. Give Peter a call. Excellent work and reputation on this site.

I don't have saddlebag speakers on my Ultra so I can't give you any advice. You might want to look at the Audio forum on hdforums.com for recommendations.

Found A pair of used OEM speakers on e-bay for $40 so I'm back in business for now. I'm already looking into upgrading the entire system this winter. So far J&M has my vote as far as price point and being plug and play. :-\

Thanks For Everyones Input,

Focal speakers are the best, there are many combos out there. Both my bikes have upgraded head units, focal speakers, on one I run a JL amp, on the other I run an arc audio amp.
