when i first start my bike there is what sounds like an engine knocking coming from motor. It goes away after a couple minutes when it warms up. any thoughts or help?? I have hillside stage 3 heads, woods 777 cams, s&s adj pushrods, lifters, 5.3 injectors, and 55mm hpi throttle body

What pistons? Could have a little piston slap.

not sure, they came with s&s 106 big bore kit

Ah the infamous 106". If this is one of the early ones, they had short skirts on the pistons. Using any oil?

not that im aware of, i had them on for a year with andrews 54 cams before this and rode bike with new combination for 3 months before this happened

You might try and do a compression and leakdown test simple enough and may glean a lot of information from them.

The issue can be narrowed down with a Leakdown Test, and / or a look with a Borescope, end result, going to have to pull the Heads anyway... Dust off the credit card

did you happen to note where the air sound was coming from on the cylinder with the leadkdown?

havent got to leakdown test, have to do some research on how to do that
