Factory Nav questions
« on: November 19, 2016, 05:55:09 PM »

I have a '16 CVO SG, the front got mushed and it got the Nav plug. I got a brand new '17 Nav unit. of course now I see there are about 10 different part numbers for these identical looking units.

This one is a 76000076B, which is a '17 SGS unit.

aside from the CVO sirius/xm module what are the differences? I see that the stock unit is for 2 speakers, I have the amp and 4 speakers. I'm assuming I will have to have this Nav unit flashed for 4 speakers?

any other differences? I did plug it in today and it powered up but the Nav section did not load, all I got was a Compass symbol in the middle with "?" symbols all around. I'm also assuming this is because the unit did not have the GPS antenna hooked up and has not initialized?
I don't have a replacement antenna yet.

I don't know so maybe you guys might? :-*

Sorry but did you wreck your bike and damage the Infotainment unit? And if so did you buy a Infotainment system for a different bike than you had? And what is a SGS?

plugged the gps antenna in and there is no database or software for the nav portion. My buddy bought a used unit off ebay and the same thing happened. The software/database for the Nav side is not there. Nav is highlighted and selectable but that's it. The database/software page is just blank. Selecting Nav brings up a compass.

Would be nice if someone would figure this out. Harley does not know and can't do anything but order new parts. They really know very little about these units.

You might need to have it set up by a dealer with the digital tech.

I say this because it took a few tries to get my aux-in set up right, and at one point, they had selected it as my GPS source, so when I selected NAV on my menu, all it got was a compass.

Something to look into? :nixweiss:

I understand your frustration and why you went the eBay route. But look at it from the dealers point of view. With the 2017 model out just a few months there is a good chance the unit you bought was stolen, either from a dealer or a bike that was chopped up. Very little insentive for them to help.

Go thru the software and firmware list in the Unit on screen and see what it shows.
