Heated Grips.
« on: January 08, 2017, 05:47:36 PM »

Have a question for everyone. My 2011 Limited, FLHTK, had heated grips. Temp controls 1-6. 2 clicks, was the second heat setting. Some kind of ball detent, that told me where the heat adjustment was.

On the TKSE, the heat control is smooth. And at night I have no idea if I am on 1 or 6.
Now I believe when I first got the SE in April 2016, that the heat adjustment worked the exact same way, with clicks that indicated the heat setting.

My dealer is telling me that CVO's are designed differently, and are smooth in their operation.

What does your bike do? Smooth or clicks, 1 through 6?

My 2006 (first year offered) was smooth and my 2014 is smooth. The only way I know where it is set is by the comfort/heat in my hands.

All my CVOs have been smooth, no detents or clicks.  Never had heated grips on non-CVO.

Smooth and your right that at night you can't tell until ambient light hits it somehow.

Mine is smooth, not a big deal. You quickly realize how far you need to turn it and adjust from there.
