Cold morning

I went to work and when I got there I said to a friend wow it's cold outside this morning. He looked at me and apologies to me, saying I'm sorry about that. Not sure what he meant, I said why would you apologies?
He told me,.... well I went to the bar with some of the boy's yesterday after work. I smoked cigars, played pool, had a load of beers and didn't get home till late.
When I got home and into bed the wife got up and opened the bedroom window and left it open all night.
