ACR mystery

On rare occasion and always on a heated engine, my ACR's seem to not engage upon starting. In a split second they start working and engine cranks fine. Anyone else experience this?

I have had that happen a few times ( less than 5). I think that I have pushed the start button before the wait to start light has gone off.
