Thanks a bunch "the other JC".....just what I needed....another thingamabob to purchase for the bike!

Seriously, these are very cool.  I'm currently running Custom Dynamics front and rear with the white to amber halo rings for the front and I've been very pleased with those.  It's nice there is another option out there and if the front white to amber 1157 version puts out more white light, they may find a place on the front of Beauregard.... :)

JC, I just chatted with the Kuryakyn rep.  My question was were the led's on the side and front of their bulb or just the side.  If it threw a beam of light from the center of the light along with the side LED elements that reflect off the light housing, that would be a plus over the C.D. halo units.  According to the rep, these only have LED elements from the side, no front facing elements.

I'd still like to see them in person to see just how similar to/worse than/better than they are to the CD offering... :2vrolijk_21:

These are nothing like Custom Dynamics or HD OE lamps. They have side facing LED's that work off the reflection of the housing. CD, HD and most of the other LED's on the market for auto/bike applications use 3528 or 5050 LED bulbs that simulate daylight (6000K) they are actual individual bulbs that face the area you want light to be produced. Lumens would be what you would want to investigate, Maybe the new Kuryakyn lights put out more lumens but if they do the actual "bulbs" in the alum housings are VERY high quality.
I tried some lamps that look the same as the Kurakyn that were manufactured by Oracle Lighting for interior car applications. While the light output was OK, the lifespan was terrrible.
Bet you can buy these, cheaper probably, from Superbrightleds.com. Do a little research, they have about any kind of LED and the guy on the phone I spoke with was knowledgeable.
