Stereo switches to weather band
« on: June 13, 2017, 10:21:34 AM »

My "15 Limited switches from xm to weather band on its own. It seems to do it when I'm riding in a very specific area in my town. I have kept up with the downloads except I haven't installed the latest version. I'm wondering if it is caused by some kind of radio interference from a cell tower or something. Any one else experience this problem?

i had a radio with weather band one it and if there was an active emergency alert it would auto switch to weather band.

if its always in one area maybe the tower is broadcasting that emergency signal incorrectly

I at first thought maybe it changed because I hit a bump but I change it back to xm and it will do it again. This continues for about a quarter mile then it operates normally.

Change the automatic weather alert setting to OFF and then ride by that same location that's been triggering the change to the weather band.  There may be something generating a similar tone to the weather alert system in that area.

If it was just randomly jumping to other bands and not weather, I'd be inclined to start looking for a defective switch pack for the audio controls (fairly common on Rushed More bikes).

Thanks Jerry, I didn't even know there was an automatic alert setting. I'll give that a try.
