Will a 2016 key fob work with a 2015 FLTRUSE?
« on: March 31, 2019, 12:59:52 PM »

I like the redesigned key fob for the 2016 (integrated key into fob).  Could I order a 2016 fob and have it programmed for my 2015?

There's at least one other thread on the site that asked that same question.  The short answer is no you cannot use a 2016 combination fob on a 2015.  There may be a way to make other modifications to the bike to add that capability, but as I remember it no one could get a straight answer from H-D about what parts would be needed and would it actually work.

G’day harleygtp,

As usual Jerry has it right,

I made a similar query in Jan (see below), it seems the MoCo is not too sure. I guess we need to wait until someone works out how to do it without compromising functionality & shares.

Cheers Tom

My question,

Did you have any joy finding out about converting Lucille (2015) from separate key & fob to a combined unit like the 2016s?

Initial response

So what I have gathered is that you can use those Fobs. One that has the key and fob combined but it does not have the unlock or lock for your auto locks. They may end up being a issue unless your not worried about that function. There is a different way to marry the locks. I'm going to call Harley tomorrow and see if they have any info on that specifically

Follow up response

So it looks like it would work with the integrated security and locking flip fob. In the book it shows it will not work for the CVO. I believe this is because you will lose the auto lock. I called Harley they knew about as much as me. It should work but you will lose auto lock.
