New Andrews Cam
« on: August 26, 2007, 05:23:13 PM »

Andrews has developed a new cam for the TC 96 generation motors called a TW54 :

TW54                                                      SE 255
.555 lift                                                    .550
19/39 intake
43/15 exhaust
238 duration, intake and exhaust               211 Intake /235 Exhaust

This should produce less heat and a broader power curve than the SE 255, from what I've found it
looks like the power begins at 2680 rpm and pulls hard to 4700 rpm depending on what exhaust system your running. With a good 2 into 1 pipe the power band will be slightly longer.

It is suppose to be on thier site in the next 2 weeks ,  similar to the new R&R 525 but higher lift.

With the longer duration it should trump the SE 255 and give a nice fat torque curve that is easy on the valve train .  I was thinking about the 32H , but like this one better.

Nidan,

I believe this is the cam that was code named 555.   I was waiting on this cam a long while ago and had a call into Andrews about a month ago.   This was a project that Ralph was working on prior to his leaving Andrews.   It was supposed to have been released for the Cinnicinati show.    I am still waiting on Andrews to give some type of feedback on the cam as far as curves / power.

I am freinds with John and he said they had a company come in and design a 'new' ramp on the cams , supposed to be quieter and easy on the lifters. He is a busy man!

I am really looking forward to seeing how it comes out on the dyno .  I loved my TW31G I had on my WG3 95",  and was thinking I'd go with the TW32 for my 103, until I saw this one.
