Same thread, P.2, response 20 d00d. Hoist!  8-)
Thanks. I would like to see it in the light w/a shot from the rear to compare it to Ghost Riders. Really weird that one would have them on the outside, and one would be on the inside. [smiley=confused5.gif]

By the way Don, you and d00d can "BORROW" my tour pak anytime you like.  I only plan on using it for over night trips.  I got spoiled with my ultra.  I was used to being able to carry everything with me all the time.  I am trying to re-learn how to travel light.   8-)
Thanks Bro, appreciate that. I also have a king tourpak for mines, but only use it when I'm traveling.

ok,,  the part they used on the bottom of my tourpak, did not match perfectly with the detach hardware.  so they f_/"<?(fussed) with it awhile and made it work. doesn't bother me, cause it won't be on the bike very often.  I guess it means less chance of someone trying to steal it. Ghost,

I take it from reading your posts that the dealership did the install!  Is that due to the fact it is detachable and most of the work is getting it set up properly, and then its just a quick on and off.  Do you remember how many hours of install time they hit you with?

I'm not getting one at delivery, but something perhaps for a birthday present in the summer ;D

I use a T-Bag for my overnights on my Heritage.

Cobaltman,

I don't remember, but I can look that up and get back to you.  I do remember that they had the bike for almost two weeks to do what would have taken me an afternoon to do.

I had the dealer do the install so that all of these items would be included under my warranty.  It is a pricey item for something that hangs on the wall about 50 weeks a year.  But then, that is the curse of OCD that we must live with.

I have a Saddleman touring bag that I think I can sit on the passenger seat, and attach to the tour pak for the really big trips (Sturgis).  I have always used T-bags before, I think they are the best.

Later,
Ghost

HarleyTeam had problems at the dealer getting his TourPak mounted to the detachables. He said they had to reverse the latches to the outside. Something's weird.

Hey Ghost - great pictures, I reckon it's the way forward for me.  How does the bike ride when full and how much did it cost all in.   I satisfy my OCD when I come across the Atlantic as you need a second mortgage to buy stuff in good old blighty.

Smiler,

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to test ride the bike with it fully loaded.  We had a pretty bad winter here, and my bike has been in the shop for the last month having some "issues" repaired/improved.  I hope to be able to load her up and take a quick road trip sometime next month.

As for price, I paid $550.00 (including shipping) for mine.  I bought it from a dealer through e-bay.

Ghost

Smiler,

Here's what I got from Chicago Harley:

Flamed leather Tour-Pak luggage             53057-07   $519.96
Leather Tour-Pak lock kit                       54360-05   $135.96
Detachable Tour-Pak mounting rack         53276-04   $135.96
Touring detachable docking hardware kit   53988-07   $43.96

Shipping was around $24.00

My dealer in Seattle charged me 3 hours (@ $80.00 per hour) to install it.

Total cost:    $1100.00
