Not sure what's the right way or wrong way if there is a right or wrong way. Adjusting the belt deflection looking at the deflection chart it says wheel in the air or on the jiffy stand??
Mine is under FLHTCUSE2 3/8-7/16 inch adjustment. I adjusted the defection with the wheel on the ground set at 3/8" when I lift the wheel in the air the setting moves up an 1/8" belt measures loose so if I set it in the air at 3/8" when I put it back on the ground the deflection drops off to an 1/8th belt too tight

Q. Is should the deflection be set with the wheel on the ground or in the air. My concern is if it's set to tight it can damage the belt and/or pulley, and bearings to wheel /transmission being to tight. BTW, I set adjustment with bike upright.
Thanks for any input.
