Say that you purchase a new Harley Davidson motorcycle out of town, and then eventually you encounter some warranty issues.

How would you expect to be treated by the local dealers upon presenting them with any warranty issues ?

Talking 2024 model that local dealer either did not have in stock, or could not get close to on price.

I bought mine at one dealership because the nearby dealership did not have what I was looking for. The local dealership has given me no problems doing service and warranty for me. And they don’t seem to put their purchases in front of me. They actually squeeze me in one time with no notice when I needed something done ASAP.

With that being said, every dealership can be different. But in this economy, it was lots of bike sitting on the floor. I can’t see why a dealership would want to turn away a customer. Who could potentially be a future purchaser?

Gotta agree, it wouldn't make sense to turn away any paying customer.  At with HD closing shops and consolidating them into other ones those working shops need to do whatever it takes to survive. And you're right, it might spike buyer confidence in new bikes.

Factory warranty is covered anywhere in the world. Regardless where you bought it at.

I think it really depends on the dealer on how they would treat you.  Most dealers place service and sales as separate businuss units.  Some mich prioritize bikes they solldd over once they didn't for warranty work.  I believe most would just do them as appointments were scheduled.  Most cant afford to turn away work, especially in this economey.

Particularly on warranty repairs, I’d think every dealer would slot you in as their appointment schedule would allow. HD reimbursement on warranty work is at retail (as far as I am aware).
And, when traveling, I’ve always been fortunate to find dealers will do their best to get you back on the road as best they can. As others have said, the Service side of the dealership is a key profit center - so it’s in their best interest to keep the shop in “turn and earn” mode.
