A guy is making his first business trip to Boston, and one of his friends who comes from that area tells him if he has time, he must try the local delicacy, a fish called a Scrod.

So the guy goes off on his trip, and has a few hours to kill between meetings.  He remembers his friend's advice about the Scrod, so he jumps in a cab....

Cabbie says "Where to, Mister?"

Guy says, "Can you tell me where I can get Scrod around here?"

The cabbie looks at the guy for a few seconds, then says "Mister, I musta heard that question a thousand times, but it's the first time I heard it in the pluperfect subjunctive tense!"
