You will get a little better quality signal by going in through the aux input. I was tempted to do that also, but had the modulator lying around and was too lazy to try to figure out the best way to get to the input. The next time I have the outer fairing off I may do the same.

That looks really clean. Maybe I will have to change out the cord. Thanks for the post.

How do those pouches mount to the fairing are they velcro fastened or screwed in.  I have an ipod also which I use all the time I found that 3.5 mm cord at target for about 3 bucks but that 90 connector looks great.

Here is an option to running the cord behind the fairing and storing the ipod in a pouch. It is not as clean an install but it works for me. The mount arm comes off quickly and all that is left is the ubolt attachment. I know it leaves the ipod open to the elements and the mount looks like a bad car cell phone mount, but it is functional [smiley=laugh.gif]. It is made by www.ram-mount.com and I purchased it from www.cyclegadgets.com at a motorcyle show for about 35 bucks. They also advertise a version in chrome.

Hey Mas,  quick question or 2 for you.  Is that mounting bracket for 1 1/4" handlebars?  Are the bars on your,  the same as my 03SERK? Would that bracket work for a XM Radio?  Also,  what are you guys using for a power source?  Cig lighter hookup?

I'd assume guys have a cigarette lighter directly connected to the battery??  That's where I figure they got it. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

MAS...Is the IPOD waterproof? If not, I would think that if you got caught in the rain you might have some issues. Just wondering. The set up looks good though and probably much easier to operate than mine. I have to open the flap of the pouch to change the song and can't actually tell what is playing (safely that is) until I stop.

Laker23,

I don't think it is water resistant but I am not too concerned about it because I am pretty much a fair weather rider [smiley=laugh.gif]. Living in Southern California we have a lot of days to ride without the chance of rain. I bought this set up as it was easy and required little or no ingenuity. I don't operate it when I am riding either as I don't want to be distracted and the ipod controls don't seem to respond to my touch with gloves on.  I just pick a play list and control the volume off the radio. I mostly use it when my girl is with me, she is a rocker. Otherwise I like the roar of my pipes and the music in my head [smiley=laugh.gif].

Yeah, So. Cal. is a bikers dream. I too am a fair weather rider but don't mind getting caught in the rain every now and again. On those hot and muggy days in GA a few rain drops feel wonderful.  [smiley=beerchug.gif]
