F Y I Porous Jug on FLHRSE3
« on: May 18, 2007, 01:06:55 PM »

My 2007 Screamin Eagle Road King rear jug has been deemed porous by the Motor Company and is sending a replacement to the Dealer. My experience in the automotive field with the term porous has always included follow terms such as bad batch, bad run, etc.. My point being it is unlikely only one jug, one bike is effected.

FLHRSE,

Welcome to the site. We've already met.... yesterday. We've got a New Member Introduction thread where everyone gets to tell us about themselves.

I'm sure this topic will get a lot of attention as many 110 owners here have been having problems with the new motors.

Do you have any pictures of the oil leak?

Welcome again,

Chief

Hello,

No I do not. I originally though the oil leak was coming from the head gasket, however after thorough inspection the oil was appearing on the 5 - 9 fins below the exhaust port. The Motor Company Company should be concerned due to their term porous.

FLHRSE,
First off welcome to the site glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21: In regards to the porous cases your situation isn't an isolated incident. There have been previous years when this has been a problem. Last case I remember of a member here having that problem (porousity <sp>) was 103tHunDer (he owns a SEEG). His was noticed when he had some mods done to his bike and was covered under warranty.

Sorry to hear your bad news. I think this is the only problem I have not had with my SERK. Sure hope she doesn't fall into the "bad batch" category.
