Well as we have identified, it has occurred to many of us...

As for me it occurred just prior to nightfall.  I was to be already through the Tail of the Dragon prior to breakage.  Due to the breakage and not being prepared, it forced me to ride the "Dragon" at night without clear glasses.  In addition, after the "Dragon" I still had to make it back to Gatlinburg all in 4th gear.

An experience I will not soon forget...

Enjoy...

Who was it that said "jinx".  My shifter shaft pulled out of the inner lever on the way home from work today.  The splines still look good and interestingly enough the bolt  holding the inner lever to the shaft was still tight enough that I couldn't slip the shaft back into the lever.  And, I'm trying to get out of here on vacation.  The wifes chomping at the bit to ride but I need to get down to the dealer and replace both just to be on the safe side.  The billet shift lever, which was loctited on didn't budge.

My shifter lever dropped forward again last night!!!I tighten it up again ,it only was about 1/10th of a turn to get it back tight? My question is what mileage are they failing at?I have only 8100 miles on my 2004 seeg.

I now carry spare bolts...new bolts can be tightend more than used ones.  For both the Shifter and the inner arm to the transmission.  They are different.

Easy, but not cheap.  Those shifter arms are expensive!

Ummmm Bill,  You don't happen to have the PN # of those two bolts do you?  I think if one of us carried a set of them, then both of us would be covered. Like the carrying and umbrella kind of thing.
