This hasn't been discussed to death, so I'm interested in getting more feedback on the Doherty Mystfree breather system. My understanding is this product replaces the way the HD breather operates, and controls the oil puking better than the umbrella valves. I was wondering what experience people have using this. As a more positive check valve in the breather, has it caused any other problems  or issues with crankcase pressure or anything else? Did it completely stop oil puking to the A/C? Thinking about including this in my build, but still have some reservations. Any feedback ya'll have would be helpful. TIA.

Hoist,
I put a set of these on the wife's SERG.  It would only puke when run pretty hard for longer distances.  While they did seem to be well made and the engineering appeared like it would do as advertised, we saw absolutely no difference afterwards.  Same situation, bike still puked.  Did the bike have other problems??  I don't think it had anything significant.  It would pull hard away from the 103 at 90 mph.  That SERG was one running machine.

Have it on Bessie, pukes like hell when she's hot. Ended up running the breather tubes under the frame to hide the oil.

Nice concept, when I called Doherty, they informed me that it requires maintenance. I dont mind a little maintenance but pullung the rocker covers every few thousand miles is a pain in the azz.

Sometimes I believe that the old saying of "Keep it simple stupid" is the way to go.

Thanks Brian. No rave reviews of this product and it doesn't seem to do what it claims to do. Stop the puking. They say to use only 3-1/2 qts of oil on an oil change, and that helps. This product doesn't seem to be worth the effort from what I'm hearing. Any other comments or staunch believers? ;) Hoist! 8)

Terry said that a while ago. Use only 3.5 qts when changing oil and puking goes away.   When we change our oil the conventional way we still have at least .5 qts of oil in the motor, so when we fill up with 4 qts we are overfilling by .5 qts. ......makes since to me.

Using the overflow thinking, then once you've puked out the "extra" 1/2 qt, it should stop- right????  Show me one that does stop at that point.  Every one we've had or seen will keep on puking till there's none left to puke.

It seems nothing will prevent the puking. :puke: But I've been hearing that these things do help a little. It looks like a well machined product that can only help, and not hurt anything. I'm trying it out. :nixweiss: Hoist! 8)
