set time on radio
« on: July 18, 2007, 09:14:30 AM »

Just picked up my 06 ultraSE, about a 140 mile ride home. Without a doubt this is the bike for me, love the power, ride, everything. Did a complete 3 hole service, detailed the bike, waiting to ride(of course it's supposed to rain for the next 3 days). One problem, I was trying to set the time on the radio. Went by the owners manual which said have radio off and key on either on or acc. and press the set button(6), which I did and it shows time set, DST, and Newfoundland on the display with Newfoundland highlighted. What gives?  I tried hitting different buttons to no avail, according to the manual when you hit the set button it should show the time with + and - hrs. and mins.  Any thoughts?

That happened to my 07 UCSE.  If I remember correctly, the dealer messed with it for a couple of days and they finally pulled the Maxi Fuse and the radio reset itself.

My 06 had a problem with the radio and the dealer had to do an update from Harley.

Not much help I guess. I would suggest that you take it to a dealer and let them take a look.

Good luck.

after the dealer installed my Har/Kar GPS, the clock would not re-set. They ordered and installed a new clock.

Prior to that, I was able to re-set the time accordingly to the manual.

Thanks, I'll let the dealer look at it when I take it in for the recall on the ign. switch.

When I first took delivery of my FLHTCUSE2 I was able to set the time manually.  After going into the NAV mode the first time I noticed my clock had lost an hour so I went to re-set it and all I could choose was time zone (correctly displaying eastern) and dst (incorrectly saying off) but not the time.  All I did was move it into DST mode and it has never had a problem since....
