103" engine build
« on: February 23, 2008, 01:22:10 AM »

IM presently having a 103" built by my Harley dealer it includes the 3.875" big bore cylinders, 10:5-1 forged stroker pistons the twin cam performance cylinder heads, 258 cams, screamin eagle EFI tuner, heavy breather kit, bubs 7 true duals, Screamin eagle cold racing plugs for high compression engine , sreamin eagle 8MM wires plus all the gaskets and accessories needed.  I spent a total with installation and parts of just under $3200 I saved just under $1000.00 because I bought a new bike  I'm hoping for at least 100whp and 105tq.  By the way the bike is an 08 white/goldpearl street glide

Good luck and let us know how the build turns out.  I think you might be on the low side with the numbers you're expecting.

Im just trying to be realistic and realize if I gain anything over that I'll be happy.

You shouldn't have any problem hitting your numbers or exceeding them .

Well since the Bub 7 true duals were on back order I ordered the d&d fat cat's with the performance baffle.  I also have in writing that the dealership will warranty the motor for 2 years all parts and labor. :pepper:

Personally , I would use the quiet baffle, give you more grunt...peformance baffle will reduce bottom end grunt, Baggers need all the bottom end grunt they can get>> Greg

Aaron of D & D (their R & D engineer) recommended the "quiet performance" baffle to me....  He explained there is a standard baffle, and quiet standard baffle, a performance baffle and a quiet performance baffle.  As I said, he recommended the Quiet Performance baffle...

looks like it to me that the standard baffle is clearly beaten by the performance baffle.  The overall winner would have to be the modified baffle system.  Mark from d&d did not recommend the performance baffle for the reason being it's much louder.   I personally want a loud exhaust so that doesen't bother me.
