head/piston specs, #s
« on: January 04, 2005, 11:26:56 PM »

Hello All,
New member here. Not a CVO owner, just curious. [nice bikes though] A discussion at a TC88 yahoo group sent me here. Several of us there are curious about the 103 cylinder heads, pistons, etc. Anyone have a pic of the chambers? Slanted quench design, or flat quench? Afaik, the piston is flat, and we're wondering if it's same as the flat top 103" SE stroker piston. Anyone have a parts book? Please respond or e-mail me if you can help us learn more.
TIA

Dave,
According to the 05 FLHTCSE2 Parts catalogue, they are as follows:
     Heads:  16961-03A (front & rear)
Pistons:   22421-03 (piston & ring assembly)
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Michael

Michael,

From pics posted elsewhere, the piston looks like a casting, similar to the import stock 88" and SE 95" flat tops, although the pin hieght is obviously different.

As far as the heads, I speculated that they were basically same as the non CNC'd HTCCs, but from what I see/have learned, they aren't. Although the chamber is round, like the HTCCs, the intake port looks to be round, unlike the D shaped HTCCs. Valve appear to be 1.90 to 1.94", and exhaust 1.625", afaik.
Thanks.
Dave

Specs are different on CVO heads vs. HTCC heads vs. CNC ported heads. Again if you just get you hands on the 2004 Screamin Eagle perfromance parts catalog, it explains all of this. You guys will save yourself a lot of potentially innacuarte measuring and sepculation and TIME.

PCC,

Understood. Fyi - nobody in this thread implied that the CVO heads were not different from the two versions of HTCCs. I was merely interested in learning if they might be similar to that design, which they are in some aspects, btw.

I don't see that the screaming eagle parts catalogue tells anything about the heads/cams or anything that comes stock on a 103 cvo bikes, other than part #s, but I cannot find any real specks on the stock heads ,cams ect. I did see that the front and rear heads have differant part #s.
