Hazelwood City Council Attempting To Ban Hunting And Firearms Discharge!

Thursday, August 09, 2007

Your attendance is needed!

On Wednesday, August 15, the Hazelwood City Council is expected to consider a far-reaching ominous proposal that bans all discharge of firearms within the city limits, even where it is safe to do so.   This proposal effectively strips gun owners of their ability to sport shoot, hunt and defend themselves and their loved ones outside of their homes from a violent attack!  That’s right, if this proposal were to pass, even the discharge of a firearm in self-defense outside of your home would be banned in Hazelwood!

Please make plans to attend this important city council meeting to be held Wednesday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hazelwood City Hall located at 415 Elm Grove Lane, Hazelwood, MO 63042-1917.

While the direct impact of this measure will first be felt by law-abiding hunters, sport shooters and gun owners living in Hazelwood, the practical effect is that all Missourians, non-resident hunters and sport shooters will be prohibited from hunting and shooting within the city limits.  Moreover, every resident, as well as those law-abiding gun owners passing through Hazelwood, would be denied their right to defend themselves and their loved ones – effectively gutting your Right-to-Carry.

However, if you act now, we can stop the City Council before it is too late.  Regardless of whether or not you live in Hazelwood, it is crucial that you make plans to attend the city council meeting on August 15.  If you are unable to attend, please contact the city officials listed below and urge them to protect your right to self-defense and your hunting heritage by rejecting any proposal that bans the discharge of firearms!

He's travelling...

Room Available

The Best Western is booked.  No more rooms at the inn.  One of our group will be unable to attend though.  Booking for a king non-smoking room is still held for them.

If you are currently booked at another lodging and wish to join the crowd or if you aren't booked and wish to take advantage of this let me know.  Will put you in contact with the person leaving the booking so it can be transferred to you.

I am travelling for a few days.  So don't be concerned about delays betweeen sessions.  I will get back to you.

I'm not home but logged in quickly for a brief winding down before calling it a day.  VAZ, the parking lot time and friendly riding had better stay just that; friendly and relaxing.  Ball busting can go on at the track for it's own fun.  It's even amusing here to a point.  But I'm sure the guys aren't going to cross that point.......

Just one small bit of info separate and apart from any opinions on the matter.  One could read this and get the impression you're reading about small town rural Missouri.  Hazelwood is a suburb of St. Louis.  It's in St. Louis County, population is about 30k and the town has 12 Fortune 500 companies, six Fortune 1,000 companies and 10 corporate headquarters.

This isn't some little town where you'd normally think it's ok for folks to be shooting off their back porch.  If someone is firing a weapon in public in St. Louis county they're already violating an ordinance or three.  From what the state wide press has covered the proposed ordinance doesn't obviate self defense rights either.

When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

New Jersey is right up there with California when it comes to gun laws, and it is ineffective.

Did you hear about the execution style murders that took place last week in Newark, NJ?
I have a friend that is a Newark PO, he has told me there is not a day in Newark that goes by without a shooting, more so then NYC.
And I don't live that far from the murder capital of the Country, Camden, NJ (just happens to be where some of the biggest guns in the country are stored, BB-62).

Gun laws have done nothing to stop the problem in either of these two towns.

I have some real concern that this great Country will eventually be overrun without a shot fired.

If it was a matter of defending myself or loved ones from harm (I thought that they were going to kill them or me), the ordinance would be the least of my concerns.  I think that I'd have to "discharge my weapon" and take my chances.
