I really like having bags.  Seeing these bikes makes me think about making my V-Rod a bagger.  I think that I could maintain the paint scheme and have a nice looking Vagger.

. . . or B-Rod.  Maybe a BagRod.  How about a V-Bagger.

Great looking bikes a V Rod plarform bagger/dresser would be a good idea. However, they will need to look into the gas tank configuration and size as the present gas tank has very limited fuel mileag.

Excellent idea, Preston....that would be a cool looking bagger with a nice batwing to match.  For a solo touring bike, it would be hard to beat.

They do make a 5 gallon tank now...two different people make them, and the cost has come down to the 400 dollar range...not difficult to install either.  The HD 5 gallon tank will not fit the old frames, but these two I'm speaking of will.

Cycle Visions sells the parts you need. They advertise in all the major mags and have a website as well. Randy's a good dude, friend of Beags and a Hamster in case that makes any difference.

The extra weight might make the 5 gallon tank a must.  I'd hate to get the V-Rod all set up for the touring and then have to stop at every gas station along the way.

Rick's Tank is one, and then HogPro is selling another version made by a company here in the US (or they were, at least).  Many on the Vrod forum have installed one or the other of these tanks with good results.  It's a bolt in process, only requiring a small modification to the skid plate on bottom.  To make a serious touring bike out of a V, the 5 gallons would be a necessity, IMO.
