Well....went to a different dealer (actually the "sister" dealer of the idiots that allegedly ordered the replacement regulator) and got the voltage regulator replaced without incident. At the same time, I had them look at the XM radio since I wasn't getting any sound out of the right speakers from the fairing, tour pack AND the headsets. Researched it on the site and heard from another 2006 CUSE owner that he had the same problem and it was a loose wire. The diagnosis from this dealer was that he needed to replace the XM module.......so he ordered it. Will take a couple of weeks to get it in.
While they had the bike in, I had them adjust the angle on the handlebars (had them rolled forward about an inch). Got on the bike to take it home, and the angle was perfect. Now it fits me like a glove. When I got home, I looked closely at the bars and realized that when they rolled them forward, they jammed the banjo bolt up against the fairing, leaving an indention in the fairing. Of course, I'm a dumba** for not checking before I left the dealer, but now I've got to go BACK to the dealer........again......and see what they will do to fix the gouge. All they would have had to do is to loosen the banjo bolt for the hydraulic clutch and move it about a quarter inch and there would have been no problem. MAN, this is frustrating.
I assume I can't just loosen the bolt and rotate it slightly since I may introduce air into the hydraulic line. Right?
At least the regulator is replaced...........and I realize I doing have gasket issues, but this is frustrating because they just weren't thinking.
Any clue what they'll try and do to me to fix the fairing? It's a pretty deep gouge........
Thanks for listening to my whining.............
