Have heard mixed results on those beads.  Wish they would work better.

Work just great for me....

FYI Dunlop's website says use of any of these in the tire balancing products voids warranty on the tire.

Jerry, your post got me interested to see exactly what they say. I looked on the Dunlop tire site and am impressed that they are not covering their a$$es with a stupid blanket statement. Now, this is for their car and truck tires, but I'll assume the warranty is basicly the same.

Quote
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company does not warrant or give credit in any adjustment transaction for any kind of material added to a tire (e.g., tire fillers, sealants, balancing substances) after the tire leaves a factory producing Dunlop tires, nor will it adjust any tire that has failed as a result of adding such material.

I'm pretty impressed that they state it this way. If a tire fails, they won't pay for anything I put in the tire that probably got out of the tire when it failed. They won't cover a failure caused by something I put in the tire. Sounds like they read and understood the Magnusson Moss Waranty Act.  :)

Jim,

I really want them to work too, but starting right about 72 or 73 mph, the front end starts to shake a bit. I can look at the axel bolt and it's hopping a good bit. I'm not going to give upu on them yet because I really HATE those ugly wheel weights. I'm hoping it's something else and that I can keep the beads. I love the idea and will try to make it work. Even if it doesn't, they're staying in there until I need a new tire because I'm not going to pay the fee to remove, mount and balance the tires just to get rid of them. So, I've got about another 7,000 miles to work on them.

If I recall correctly, Chuck - didn't you put more in than I did?  Wonder if too much is the problem?

PS - saw the pics of the bike back on the road a couple of mins ago for the first time (not had much time to be on the site last few weeks). Unbelievably, stunningly gorgeous, you lucky man!  :drink:

Yes, I used 3oz instead of the prescribed 2 oz. My rationale was that I removed 2.5 oz. of lead from the front tire. Since that 2.5 oz was in one spot, it could be argued that I still need more as these beads will not stay as a point mass, but will be spread over a larger part of the circumference, thereby reducing the effect if averaged and applied as a point load.

I'm going to stick some lead back on where it was. I marked the tire where I removed the weights from so I could put them back on. If it clears up with an oz or so of lead, maybe I just need more beads.
