I break/destroy more stuff w/just a screwdriver and wrench I'd probably kill myself w/a power tool. :nervous:
...

I got a recall on our dishwasher - $150 dollars rebate and the machine was quite dated, so I looked at the fact that for a little more than $300 for a new high speed dishwasher, it was like 1/2 price.  But I needed to get the model tag off our current dishwasher.  I had a Doctor's appointment so was not aware of what Jamey was doing, but he has a hack saw and a few other guaranteed to cut through anything like butter products and he was cutting and cutting trying to get this tag off the dishwasher. I came home and said, don't worry about it, I'll take care of it and let him go off to the appointments he had set up for the day.  I spent 35 minutes walking through the multi layered menu at GE to finally talk to someone and I told her how much energy we were spending and still did not have the tag. She says it is just supposed to peel off.  I thank her for her time and go downstairs to the kitchen.  In less than 20 seconds I peeled off that tag and stuck it to a 3 x 5 card for mailing in for the rebate.  I love my husband very much, and at some things he is the smartest man I know.  But with a screwdriver, and a hack saw he can tear up some stuff.  Thank goodness he didn't bring in the powered tools, I can't imagine what I'd be sending in to GE for the rebate.

Gary, Only way I get to use a chain saw is if I don't crank it. Takes forever to cut a tree down.

HAMMER: Originally employed as a weapon of war, the hammer nowadays is used
as a kind of divining rod to locate expensive parts not far from the object
we are trying to hit.

MECHANIC'S KNIFE: Used to open and slice through the contents of cardboard
cartons delivered to your front door works particularly well on boxes
containing seats and motorcycle jackets.

ELECTRIC HAND DRILL: Normally used for spinning steel Pop rivets in their
holes until you die of old age, but it also works great for drilling
mounting holes in fenders just above the brake line that goes to the rear
wheel.

PLIERS: Used to round off bolt heads.

WHITWORTH SOCKETS: Once used for working on older British cars and
motorcycles, they are now used mainly for impersonating that 9/16 or 1/2
socket you've been searching for the last 15 minutes.

DRILL PRESS: A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat
metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and
flings your beer across the room, splattering it against that freshly
painted part you were drying.

WIRE WHEEL: Cleans rust off old bolts and then throws them somewhere under
the workbench with the speed of light. Also removes fingerprint whorls and
hard-earned guitar calluses in about the time it takes you to say, "Ouc...."

HYDRAULIC FLOOR JACK: Used for lowering a motorcycle to the ground after
you have installed your new front disk brake setup, trapping the jack handle
firmly under the front fender.
