There may be some info already within this forum, but not exactly sure how I would look it up. So I'll just come out and ask for a little help, if it is possible.
While I love my 07 Ultra SE..there are times when I ride solo without the wife, around town, short runs, etc. I'd like the clean look of the street glide, and I have seen some ultras that have been able to "convert" into one.

Would someone that has done this perhaps list exactly what I would need...perhaps approx cost of each item, and maybe what a dealer would charge based on approx time involved (that would be a big guess I know). I know I have an amp under the tour pac that would have to be re-routed, quick disconnect for the tour pac (leather) and even a solo seat, and that great looking luggage rack. I am not a wrench, so trying to do this job on my own would be impossible. But, I do have some friends who could help...and then again the dealership is another possiblity..but I'd like to be armed with enough information that they don't get to me.

Anyway...any help..suggestions...prices...etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Those ugly things have had their utility further extended since then too Gary.  Another couple pieces of scrap board and two more pieces of rod and now they hold a detachable luggage rack too :drink: .
You know I really hate this particular emoticon, but it seems so appropriate here.

Thats exactly what I want to do, but something would end up broken and I would have two holes in my wall!  Carprentry was full in H.S. so I was forced to take typing and purposely failed sewing, wtf were they thinking by putting me in sewing?

Check e-bay I've seen them on there where the tour-pac is upright so you can get into it,I leave maps and things in it and need them ever so often. I fabed mine from steel just two L bracket with treaded rod with 5/16 fuel hose over the rod.

Mike, the width of the tour pak is such that the studs against the wall can mount to the 16" centers.  So it's not coming off the wall.  There are no anchors there.  It's screwed up solid.

The only thing at all iffy to figure out the first time was how far apart to space the 1/4" rods so they'd line up with the detachable hardware and how close the rod nearest the wall could be without a backrest hitting the wall as the tour pak tilted forward for release.  I can supply both of those measurements if you want them.  Even all the board lenghts if you want everything.  It really did take less than an hour to three both of them together.  They ain't pretty.  But they were cheap and strong and they work.
