New SE AC installaltion question

I was looking at the instructions to install my stage 1 AC filter on my new SERK. It says that the fuel tank must be removed. Is this correct and necessary to install the new back plate and filter. I'm not sure I'm ready to tank the tank off!  I bought the 29260-08  Any help apprecited

You should not need to remove the fuel tank.

I do now see why they say to take the gas tank off. There is a bracket that MUST be removed that has 2 screws that sit vertically just above the gas tank. They can be removed without taking the tank off by just preceding in a slow careful manner. Aside from removing this bracket , it is a fairy easy thing to do.
