After Thanksgiving Day purchase.
« on: November 22, 2007, 07:53:43 PM »

Was wondering what we were going to purchase on Black Friday.

I know most of us would never get caught up in the sales frenzy that happens on Friday.

But then again it's had to believe so many of us have OCD.

So here's my Friday purchase. If it's not a good deal let me know.

What are you going hunting for on Black Friday?

Sam's has a SHARP 42" LCD HD -->(harley?)  ;D TV on sale for $866.52. Been looking for a new TV for the bedroom.
Is this a good deal?

I went to the market for food two days ago.  After that, each year, I do my best to not set foot in a store that might be infested with Christmas shoopers and their psychoses and frenzies between the November and December holidays.  If UPS nor FedEx can't bring it I don't need it :bananarock: .

I know what you mean I hate going into stores this time of year. I was out w/family tonight visiting family/friends and on the way home we passed the Best Buy. People have already started lining up to be the first in the store in the morning. My wife and daughter are planning on getting out before sunrise to go shopping and I was teasing them that they weren't real "Black Friday Shoppers". Anybody that would camp out overnight in front of a store for an item that will only be a limited quantity of them in that store is a real "Black Friday Shopper" in my book. Either that or somewhat insane, but who am I to talk they probably would say the same thing about me if they were to find out how much I spend on my bike. :nixweiss:

dOOd

Just for the record in case me or Don or a few others may need it in the future, I have a question?
Does your wifey know how much you have spent on your bike?

 :nixweiss: ;D :nixweiss: ;D :nixweiss:

since you brought it up?
My local dealer at one time had my home phone number as point of contact and called when some parts I ordered came in and left a message. When I went to pick up those parts I corrected that error and they now have my cell phone number. Does that answer your question. ;) However the funds I spend on my toys I work OT and/or part-time job(s) for them. :2vrolijk_21:

Chip I've been doing the same thing. In-laws are here so I'm in hiding in the basement with the dogs. Looked at websites of Walmart, Costco, Circuit City, Bestbuy, Target, etc and all have a leader 42" HD for $800 - 1,100. Cheapest I found was Walmart at $768 from 5 to 9 AM.

Went to Bestbuy at 06:30 and the parking lot was full!!! Never even slowed the car down, just drove home, placed an order online to be picked up at store. I drove back up there, pulled right in front and picked up a 42" Panasonic plazma w/ wall mount. Got home so quick my wife assumed I was giving up and waiting until after Christmas sales. She left to do some damage to the Visa and I installed the wall mount and TV. Took longer to program the remote than to install the thing. It was probably a decent deal but I keep thinking, there went the $$$ I had rat-holed for some Hogpro CHROME calipers. ???

Mark,
If your Bestbuy was anything like mine I bet a some of those cars were from people that spent the night there. :nervous:

Well you know how wives can be right ?  So cross threading a bit, you'll recall the 58" Plasma Screen TV I mentioned in the Go Big Or Go Home Thread ? It's still in the box and we're on the way to Beagle's Mom and Dad's house for pie and drinks last night. Wifey pulls out a COSTCO booklet with discount coupons (I bought the Big Screen at COSTCO on Tuesday)and shows me all these discount coupons. I get the speach about how I need to look for bargains blah blah blah blah (think the sound they always had for Charlie Brown's teacher) But me being the sort to try to keep the house Feng Shui and all that, off we go to COSTCO this morning. Got there about 9:30 as I had to drop LD off for a check on some oil seepage (another story)  S'anyway, the Plasma Screen TV's matching the discount coupons were all gone except for a 58" Panasonic that was more money than the 58" Vizio I bought Tuesday even with the discount. So wifey says " there's another COSTCO over in Carmel Mtn Ranch" and off we go. We get over there, same deal on the TV's but we find a beautiful Cherry Wood cabinet made for setting up a big Plasma or LCD TV at 1/2 price because it's the last one having been the floor model and has some scratches in  couple place. Wifey says " no problem Scott's Liquid Gold will take care of those scratches " but still she tries to wrangle another $50 or so out of the poor beleaguered sale associate.  Meanwhile I'm loading up a Sony Home Theater system onto the cart even though I'd planned on a Bose because the Sony's got wireless rear speakers and still has the three front speakers, sub, CD/DVD 600watts etc etc (by the way, I forgot to tell wifey the new Plasma needed some accessorizing ) What's funny about this whole story to me is that wifey started out to get me to save some money and we spent another $750 and according to Beags I still gotta buy some monster cables that cost a Benjamin apiece. Still, wifey is happy now because she got involved with the purchase. Maybe I should take her with me the next time I buy a new Harley.

B B

Now all I gotta do is wait for Beagle to get over the Galaxy Class hangover he's got today and we'll get this baby workin. Never mind triptofan, I think Beagle's turkey was actually a Gray Goose   ;D

Yup, go big or go home, I got it today.  I stayed at home and shopped online for a BOSE wave radio.  My wife needs a new clock radio.  We've had a BOSE Acoustic Wave for 13 years.  She'd flip if she knew I spent $550 on a clock radio.  I can't wait to hear it.    :cherry:
