Has anyone modified TC rocker covers for SE Roller Rocker Arms?
« on: December 07, 2007, 12:40:50 AM »

I am considering installling the Screamin' Eagle Roller Rocker Arms part # 17378-98 but the description states that the Rocker Covers for the Twin Cam motors must be modified. Does anyone know what type of modification is required and how difficult it is to do, i.e. can it be done with the usual assortment of garage tools or does it require precision machining. (Calm down! I'm sure some of you have extensive machining capabilities in your garage, but I'm not there yet :nixweiss:).

Thanks, Mark. :coolblue:

Also... The S&S Roller rocker arms say that they are 1.6:1 ratio. not sure what this means and I am not sure if there are different options on the ratio. I believe HD stock ratio is 1.5:1. Does anyone know if there are different ratio options to S&S part #90-4065? Will they(1.6:1) work for me on a 95" build with .050 shaved TC heads and Andrews 37g cams with S&S 9.7:1 pop-ups.

Thanks, Mark. :coolblue:

1.6:1 is the stock ratio.  The clearancing is something you could do with a small rotary grinder or a Dremel tool.

Here is a lid that has marks where you need to grind, you grind the same areas on the other side of the  same lid as well. Then on to the next lid.

And all this time I have been importing the pictures into MS Picture, adjusting, cropping resizing etc, then importing into paint free handing some arrows and then posting sheesh, there is a simpler way  :2vrolijk_21:
