I think they suck! [smiley=shocked3.gif]. Oh .. I'm sorry..did I say that out loud! [smiley=laugh.gif]. Seriously though. it is totally useless and I don't know about anybody else, but I got a hell of alot of bufetting with it. I'd run a Stock RK shield or one of the aftermarket Batwings. Either works great.

the stock one was purley for looks, it pushed wind straight into my chest, pulled it off and went with a standard road king windshield

I actually kind of liked the short windshield on my old FLHRSEI.  On nice days it would keep the wind of the chest so I wouldn't feel like I was getting blown off thebike.  At the same time it allowed for you to get some nice wind in the face.  Riding with a helmet on and the short winshield was anoying though.  You would get a lot of wind tubulence that would bounce your head around.

The windshield is not bad around town, but forget about the freeways!  I actually have mine off about 90% of the time.  If your going for looks, buy it.  If you think it'l block the wind, forgettaboutit!

I changed my stock windscreen to the higher smoked windscreen from the Parts and Accessories catelog.  I think it is about 2-3" taller.  The stock one looked cool but was totally useless.  As long as you are height challenged (as I am at 5' - 5"), it works OK.  The wind goes just over the top of my head as long as I don't sit bolt upright.   The bonus is that it still looks like a chopped shield.   [smiley=7.gif]

The stock one was worthless and I'm height challenged as well...5'8". The medium tinted windshield looked good too but was equally. I now own two standard RK windshields, one with the RadioKing radio mounted to it and one without, for those days that look like rain. (should ebay the medium shield and save some wall space) Wish H-D would make a standard size full tint shield but of course they won't so will have to fork over more cash to J&P for Memphis Shades plastic.

Worthless as a windshield, nice as a decoration.

I hate mine, I can't stand using it, there is no way to get confortable with the turbulent air blowing in my face, I'm looking to buy a std windshield for long trips, otherwise I ride without one, just my oppinion on it.

Looks great, but functionality is questionable beyond keeping bugs off your chest. Use it around town, and switch to the adjustible model windshield for longer runs. I'm 5'11" and that one works great for wind and rain when raised up fully. Best look is of course none at all, but on a long ride the wind wears you out at speed.

I will echo the chorus on this one. At 6'1" tall the windshield was useless but I got lucky a friend bought an 05 Road King and had the tall shield on it ,he was short and his bike is black and bam, trade so my advice go big or dont go at all.

I agree with everyone, the short windshield looks sexy, but is worthless as far as protection goes.
