SERK3 110 6 cylinders
« on: January 15, 2008, 11:50:34 PM »

Just got my ride back with the sixth cylinder replacement. Got a six year extended warranty when I bought her in 8/07. Have 17000+ miles. A new engine from York (3 day turnaround) @ 6000mi. replaced rear cylinder @ 10,000, replaced both at 17,000 (chipped the fins on the front  PLUS MY PAINT!) and just replaced that one today. Still waiting on the Razor Red paint.
HD Rep says it is the O ring base gasket and the heat these things put out. Only major modification I have done is Vance and Hines Big Shot pipes with V&H fuel pack. Ride year round in So.Cal and am tired of breaking in new cylinder walls. Love my ride but am beginning to get Lemon Law Fever!!!

WOW  6 cylinder replacements!  That's why I'm going with Axtell cylinders for my build.  I don't know how you have put up with it. Good luck with #6.

Just consider it 'routine' maintenance, lol. :coolblue:

I saw the title of this thread and thought someone was claiming inside knowledge of a new 6 cylinder Harley engine.  Then I read the post and realized that once again I thought wrong.  Of course, maybe this is Harley's idea of a 6 cylinder engine; you just use 2 of them at a time. :nixweiss:

8500 miles and I never had to do any scheduled maintenance because HD did it as part of all the warranty work.   Struggling to find the silver lining.
