Why did a number of the top drivers  (Harvick, Busch, etc) not race in the shootout but are scheduled for the Daytona 500?  spyder

You need to win a pole in the prior season, or be a past winner of the Bud Shootout to participate in the race.  Kyle Busch couldn't participate because he changed teams over the offseason and is in a car that didn't win any poles last year.  Kevin Harvick didn't win any poles last year...

Kurt Bucsh's "wreck" (can't even really call it a wreck) was interesting to watch.  It seemed it wasn't until the air was off the wing that the car eventually spun around.

(when it is -7 below and 30 degree windchill you can watch all this good chit)

I've been watching the show, it will be interesting to see who maintains the practice speed for qualifying.

Speed Channel is running their annual Daytona Memories - always a good watch, especially if you remember NASCAR's heyday od the 60's & 70's
