Dangit you guys, now I'm going to have to go out and buy tools I don't know how to use!  ;D  All I've got are allen wrenches, I guess I need an allen socket, at least as a first step.  You think I can find a chrome one anywhere?  :nixweiss:

Hey, why don't you bring that purdy scooter over? I'll help you with the boards and then I'll try to talk you into letting me ride it.  ;D

Yep, a good set of allen sockets make the job much easier.  While you are at the tool store, I would also suggest a good set of Torx sockets for additional projects in the future :2vrolijk_21:

Geez, do I have to tell you this too. I thought I only had to explain this to Pinkie. Ok, here it is again. "If you want to make an omlette, you have to break some eggs."  ;D

Thanks to all you guys for the help today.  The right tools make a HUGE difference!  :2vrolijk_21:

I went by Sears on my way home and picked up some sockets and was able to break the bolts loose with no problem.

Thanks again,

Bob

It's strange how the MOCO can really tighten things like the floorboards but can't tighten something really important like the compensator nut.   :nixweiss:

Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

I just came in from the garage after a 250 mile day. The long-legged redheaded backwarmer said her knees were a little sore. We got back on and I noticed her knees were a lttle higher than her hips, so I needed to drop my passenger boards. There is 2 settings on the frame mount . By loosening the frame mount bolt you can drop the whole thing 1 1/2 " without loosening the 2 outer bolts. Then you can start raising it if needed by using the outer bolts.
Now that I have them at their lowest position, I hope I remember to pull my foot off the ground quicker when leaving at stops.
The bolt only needs a very minor turn to break the seal. Used my foot.
Hope that helps anyone else who needs to drop the pads.
