As most of us running a solo tour pac rack know it will contact the paint near the mount when intalling or removing.

Have any of you got the new redesigned solo tour pac mount yet?

Dealer called and said mine was in, to bring the bike in and they would replace the solo mount rack and the painted parts.  I'm off shore right now so it will be at least a week before I can have them do this.

Yes the dealer is replacing the original solo tour pack rack with a new redesigned one.  They are also replacing the painted parts that the original came into contact with and chipped.  Dealer is getting it all covered under warranty.

I showed them what it did, and they got with Harley.  Dealer said they would replace the rack once a new on was designed and the painted parts.  I did not even have to ask, they just said what they would do when they saw it.

I started the original on this, mine is at the dealer at this time having the new liners installed & the redesigned replacement is also in.  I was advised that HD will replace ONE time, so get moving.

the redesigned solo tourpak rack does give relief when mounted from the painted covers. but when installing be very careful because the leading edge will gouge the covers.  fortunately i tried it with the old covers on.

Yes replaced last week, fits fine.

Mine was just replaced.  Looks to add about 1/2 more clearance than the original.  They also replaced the chipped painted pieces.  I still do not put it on or take it off with our towels in between to make sure no chips.

Does it make the tour pak sit higher, or just reshape the contour of the rack?

all same just redesigned lower front side of bracket.
