Keep in mind, the boat yard wanted 5 thousand to safely pick up your new toy and place it in the water with their travel lift. No, your too smart to fall for that, you save a thousand bucks when you rent a crane, hired a couple of cash day laborers that said they were good riggers and ran to Home Depot to buy a couple of "made in China" turnbuckles.

The marine insurance brokerage agency that sent this email to me said the boat was not covered and since the owner had rented the crane himself and hired the workers himself, there was not insurance of any kind in effect. On top of that both workers claimed neck and back injuries and without workers comp, he's stuck fighting this on his own dime and completely financially responsible.
How's that for a tough day?

     Check your source,.... I heard about this months ago. The story I heard was that the boat was being offloaded from a trans port ship after trans Atlantic shipping to the Mediterranean or somewhere like that, and it was the ships crane. And, the owner was taking the photos... I think it was in one of the boating/yachting magazines.

    Either way,....

          I hate it when that happens...
