I lay mine on it's side.  The chrome on the bike keeps the paint from being scratched badly.  A couple well placed cinder blocks keep the bike from sliding around too much also.  Good luck.

I just welded a tow bar on mine and pull it behind my pickup.

JD said you knocked big divots in the bed of the pickup where the bike would set.  Then filled the holes up with Elmer's glue before riding the bike in.  Sounded right to me :nixweiss: ?

I have truly seen folks with a big bike in a van, no tie downs, no chauks.  We have pulled our bikes in the back of the pick up - chaulks and tie downs, a trailer and moving van.  Rather ride, but you do what you have to to meet needs.  But Jim, on the side with the cement block, that is just too radical for me.  :huepfenjump3: :bananarock:
