Test Riding HDs and Victorys
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The past 2 weeks both Harley and Victory had their Demo fleet here in Las Vegas, The waiting lines were non existant. The first weekend I visited the Harley Fleet, I rode the following.
1.SE Roadking, pretty snappy, but I didn't like the floorboard and handlebars keeping me too close to the tank.
2.SE Dyna, One sweet handling scoot, by far my favorite
3.SE Springer, I didn't think it handled all that well with the larger wheel on the front, snappy motor, but the ride position and handlebars weren't the best
4.Rocker Custom, what a small feeling bike, rode rather rough too, I think I prefer the Duece overall to this bike for style and comfort, No way is my OL going to ride on that shopping cart seat.
5.Vrod Nightrod, My first time on a Vrod, I was told she really pulled after 6k! 6k?? ok, man what a screamer, changed my opinion on this scoot forever, I won't buy a new one, but I will watch for a deal on a used one in a couple of years for sure.
6.Cross Bones, I felt that this bike is just for looks, hit the throttle and you need to hang on, cause that seat IS SUPER SMALL!. Again, didn;t impress me at all.
Victory
1. Vegas, super smooth scoot, first time on one, I was impressed. The motor most certainly was equal to a HD 96 or perhaps a SE 110
2. Hammer same only more stiffer ride
3. Black Ball really nice scoot, handled really well, again nice bike
4. Arlen Ness Jackpot edition, I put this baby through it's paces and I have to say it felt like no other stock motorcycle I have rode. I like the layout of the tank, rear fender and massive tire, the custom work was equal or better than HD SE.
Here's how I rate the bikes for performance, comfort and imho, a possible purchase.
1. SE Dyna
2. Victory Jackpot Arlen Ness model
3. Vrod ( Nightrod)
4. Vegas
5.8 Ball
6.SE Springer
7.Hammer
8 SE Roadking
9 Rocker C
10 Cross Bones
I am sure many of you will disagree, but it was a fun couple of days (4) in Vegas
