Identifying Stage 1 A/C
« on: October 25, 2007, 10:08:08 PM »

Can someone tell me how to tell if my dealer put the Stage 1 A/C on my SERK. I pulled the outside cover off and the air cleaner part # reads 29633-08. It has the black back plate. Paid for the Stage 1 A/C, RT and RHTD'S when I picked up the bike. Want to get this thing dyno'd but not sure if I have the right A/C. Any help greatly appreciated.

if it is round then it is the hd high flow air cleaner...if it is sort of a flat sided oval shaper then it is not.

Thanks, put the pieces together! Although I paid for the high flo A/C when I purchased my bike and the stealer told me it was put on, I now know (stealer fessed up, but with a "reason") after opening it up that I in fact have the OE A/C.

It took the dealer 2 hours to call me back after I called them to give them the part #s off the air cleaner and backing plate. The service writer appeared embarrassed and at a loss for words. The very humble excuse you ask??? " Some of the parts to the kit were on back order when I had the bike in, but those parts are now in stock" Keep in mind I was told my bike was ALL SET with RT, A/C and Rinehart TD's installed and remapped and ready to go. I'm not sure what to think at this point.

I would however once again like to say thanks to those that share their info. If not for this site I'm not sure how long it would have been before I figured out I had been screwed and not kissed.

Took the bike to another dealer. This dealer says I need part# 29515-08 the pro air cleaner and breather kit. I thought it was 29260-08. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

JW,

It loods like you are using the original 2008 CVO air cleaner.  My delaer told me I had to use Air Cleaner Cover P/N 29121-07.* $139.95, as stated above when putting the
29260-08 SCREAMIN’ EAGLE STAGE I AIR CLEANER on a 2008 CVO bike.  How did you get the original cover to work?

I added part number 29260-08 to my bike too and the original air cleaner cover bolted right up.
Your original cover and screws are reused.
You are mounting an oval cover to a round air cleaner but the friction between the two looks like it should keep the cover from turning.
The air cleaner is pretty much completely exposed around its circumference to let air in.

The part number has a new backing plate and air filter with the right bolts to hold it in place.

You will have to remove the bracket that holds the front of the TB to the heads.
The instructions say to remove the fuel tank but you don't have to.
Just reach over the top of the bracket with an allen wrench to get to the bolts, a bit of a pain but easy enough.

Hi;
I am new to this form.

I have a 2008 cvo ultra Anniv. coming that was to be here in January but not until April now. But my question I ordered a stage 1 se ac and dealer said I would also need to buy a new cover. Does anyone have a close up picture using the stock oval cover over the new round filter.

I am also adding duals and sert.

Thanks

The issue with the cover is the contact area on the element. The SE football dos not make complete contact as the shape is a bit different. All you need to do is add a second ring of  foam rubber around the edge of the element so it makes complete contact with the inside of the cover. There is no filtering harm as the unit is sealed. The issue is purely the way it sits on the element.

PS; Welcome to the site!
