And if you use a dealer for maintenance, does HD have a central service app (like Lexus or BMW) to see your bike's service history?

They have to
prove that any failure was due to lack of maintenance, they can't just deny warranty coverage based on not having dealer records showing the service was performed. If there is any MoCo rep or dealer who hasn't heard of the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, which covers this subject in detail, then they should not have the position they currently hold. If you want to spend a little time reading, try a Google search on Magnusson-Moss. You will find that a lot of the BS you hear at your "friendly" dealership or from misinformed buddies is just that, BS.
It still is a good idea to save receipts for parts and lubricants, and to keep a record of mileage and dates when you did the service work. If for no other reason, it may come in handy when you try to remember when the last time was that you changed oil or lubed cables. Good service records also impress a lot of folks when you sell the vehicle in the future.
