Zümo 550 quick question
« on: April 23, 2008, 10:56:01 AM »

Does anyone know if the Zümo 550 is HC compatible as far as SD cards go, or is it limited to the maximum standard size of 2GB?

There is not a limit on the size of the card. I've known some to have 8GB, and I believe 16GB cards. The limitation is in the amount of MP3's that can be read on a card. No more then 1000 songs will be able to be read on a card. The rest of the storage can be used for pictures, routes you create, extra maps, etc.

Thanks JPR.  I think if they take 4GB they'll take any SDHC one, even bigger.

Using an 8GB card in mine with more then 1000 songs on it.  I had loaded them before knowing of the 1000 limitation but have read here that if you organize them into playlists of less than 1000 songs, you can get them all seen by the Zumo.  Haven't tried that yet.  The 8GB Kingston card was $35 from www.meritline.com

Used it all to attend the Texas State Hog Rally in New Braunfels, TX this weekend.  Used the HD Ride Planner to build a route using back roads from Houston and emailed it to the group to share.  Fun stuff. :jalapeno:
