Cam parts change question
« on: May 08, 2008, 07:17:45 PM »

07 FXSTSSE 4800 miles, took in for rear jug leak, 5000 mile service, and figured while I was there I would change the cam to the 251SE. Service manager told me I should change the rocker supports. I did not know, so had him look up the parts on the SE and the one in the SE race parts book and they are different numbers. Any body know for sure if the supports should be changed? The lift between the 255 stock and the 251 is .550/.550 .579/.579 respectively.

The Forged SE's are not that expensive. I'd definitely use them! ;)

With 5k on the clock there is no need to change them. You can do better than stock but with the 251's you should be fine with the stockers
