Scroll to the end where there are specifics for the CVO 110. Not that it should be this way but at least it offers an explanation for the heating problems.

Model years prior to 2007 have a heat management strategy, but without the closed loop system of the '07 and later models the effects aren't the same as what you read on the nightrider site. See attachment:
