H-D P/N 52714-04 Chrome Passenger Footboard Support Kit is listed in the catalogue as only fitting to model year 2006. Looking at the black footboard supports on LD and the mounting brkts, I cannot see any reason why. Nothing seems to have changed in either the brkt or the mounting surface. Anybody know why they would state this in the write-up ?

The '06 passenger footboard support has a catalytic converter.  It'll fit the earlier bikes but you'll need a retune to be EPA compliant on LD.
