Stock Exhaust 06/07
« on: July 11, 2008, 09:00:37 PM »

I was wondering what stock exhaust mufflers were worth, My buddie has a set off a 06 and a 07 SE ultra, both with about a 100miles on them, seen a couple of sets on Ebay and they are up to 180.00 + shipping, with the reserve not hit yet,  so if anyone is looking for a set let me know and I will get some pics next week when i go to his house, they are like brand new, He was thinking 175.00 for each set, is this to high for stock pipes??

I think $175.00 is steep.Whwn you go to bike rallies there are piles off takeoffs sitting at the performance pipe area. Often wonder what they do with them all. THE MUFFMAN

Of course we know this...to replace the stock system is well over $1500. The headers alone with shields are close to $900. And they are useless to most folks aftere they upgrade-so in that buyers market your call.

IMO they're worth whatever you can get, or whatever someone is willing to pay for them.  There's a glut of stock headers and mufflers on the market because probably 90% of all Harley owners replace their stock exhaust systems with an after-market system shortly after or before they even take the bike off of the showroom floor. (I did that on both of my bikes).  It's back to supply and demand.  There's a huge supply of them out there and not as high of a demand.  So get what you can get for them.  If you ask 175 and get offered 140, I'd probably take it, because it may be a while, if ever, that you'll sell them for 175.  I have a set of stock mufflers and headers for both my 07 SEUC and my 08 FLXH sitting in the basement with only the miles that were on the bike when it was delivered to the dealership from the factory (approximately 4 miles), so in that sense they are brand new, but I still wouldn't expect to get much more then maybe $200-250 for the full setups.  So they sit in basement.   JMHO.
