Blue Ant blue tooth interphone
« on: June 02, 2008, 09:02:07 PM »

We just used the interphone system on a 2100 mi trip, bike to bike, and have to say they worked fantastically! I did not think I would like the mono speaker but it really worked nicely. I installed mine on the right side of a helmet and hers on the left for a more direct line of sight (i generally ride front left) They worked as promissed, up to around 600 feet without distortion. The only problem is the battery life is about 5 hours but at $200. for two, we may get two more as our riding days are about 10 hrs.
I can't say enough about Blue Ant's costumer service. When we received the units, one was defective. They were in the process of moving their warehouse and had no units available. I told them we were leaving on a trip in 1 week and was told to call back in 4 days. Upon calling, they had just set one aside and overnighted it to us. Even told me to keep the defective unit, charger and headset for spare parts. No sending in the old unit and waiting days/weeks for a replacement! Great Co to deal with!

Hey I also wanted to report on the blue ant bluetooth devices. My wife and I purchased a couple for a 2200 mile trip. She also rides her own so we used em for bike to bike comm. My initial concern was like everybody elses, battery power.  We figured out though that you don't have to keep em connected constantly. (I don't like to talk a lot anyway, esp when I'm riding) Whenever u need to talk u can just page the other person and then they auto connect.  They also hook up to your phone.  Other than that you would be in stand by which has a ridiculous amount of battery time cause it's a blue tooth device. We could definately hear eachother fine at highway speeds.  Only downside I see is you could only have two paired together at one time. No biggie. I would highly recommend these things. esp at 200 bucks for a pair. You can find em easily on EBay. And no I'm not a rep, I just get real excited when things do what they say, esp. when they don't cost much!

Glad to see someone else likes them too! Best feature is the 500'+ distance between units (30' to phone). Most Blue tooths are only 30 ish feet. This is why we chose them over the nolan. Much cheaper and we did not have to buy more helmets.
