Radar Detectors for Scooter
« on: December 11, 2005, 10:37:10 PM »

I have started to research a radar detector for my scooter.
I want a really clean look/install and a radar detector that works really well
Does anyone have experience with Radar Detectors for Motorcycles?

I found this discussion board online and thought others might like to view:

I have installed Radar Detectors (front & rear) and Laser Blockers. I spent about two weeks researching, and made a lot of calls. Radar Roy (ex-cop) has a lot of info. You can see pictures on my homepage...The data unit is on the right side of the handelbars, in front of the speaker (in a view); there are several pictures of the mounting of the receivers, and blockers. Check it out! Works really good, and has  saved me about six times that I am aware of, probably a lot more that I am not...

Can't speak for motorsickles, but for my money, Valentine One has paid for itself several times over in my cars...

Agree on the Valentine One....it's fantastic. Just wish they'd put out a weather proof remote and adapt the smaller, hidden display. They will upgrade existing models as well.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I have the MOCO's version (Escort) does lazer.  Its paid for itself and I can even hear the detector beeps with my ear plugs in!  I agree the Valentine1 is the best, I use that in my vehicle.  The only issue I have with the MOCO version is drilling a 1/2 or 5/8 hole in the inner fairing.  Ride Safe!
