The dream is dead! I'm getting the run around from the dealer I bought my bike from. I have a 2010 CVO Street Glide. I have been going back and forth with the dealer for 10 months now about my defective paint job. They were telling me that Harley is dinning my clam. After listing to that and not getting any were I ask to speak to the service tech supervisor and he did the same thing looked at my bike said that Harley police is if you can't see it from three feet away or if it's hidden like mine it's be hind my bags they won't cover it. So after many times of talking to them I called the customer service department from in the owners manual. They told me that a rep looked at my bike and dinned that it was a defect. Now the only person that looked at my bike is the dealer ship I bought it from and they said it was Harley that denied it. So I asked her how I could put finger prints in the paint or how I got the clearcoat to start lifting up off my paint or how I got the pigment not to stick to my bags but yet the clearcoat is sprayed over it.She just said that there nothing she can do because it was denied. Now I feel like now one is going to hep me they won't give me any other numbers to call and I tried looking on the HOG site and no luck there. Its like they don't want you to be able to contact them. I feel like I'm on my own and I don't now what else to do. Like I said the dream of the Harley community and brother hood is dead. So I guess that Harley doesn't stand by there product. You would think they would but I found out differant. If any one out there has a # or any kind of help I would sure like to believe in the dream again. If not thanks for letting me vent on your site. Enjoy your ride and may be I'll see you out there one day.

There must be a process to appeal a denial. Ask customer service how to appeal. You may have to have customer service send you forms to fill out etc. but it may be worth the effort. Most people just give up and go away, so stay with it and make your problem know to the factory. If your appeal is denied then you may have to hire a lawyer. Also most states have a Department of Consumer Affairs where you can make a complaint.

Was the Paint issue noted when you picked up your bike? I found several defects in the paint when I picked up my bike & made sure they wrote it down on the PDI sheet before I would sign the deal & recieved a copy. HD took care of it with two months & was told it would take up to three months for me to get new saddle bag & side cover. The other saddle bag a paint issue was on the inside & was told what you were told, it will not be covered.
I lucked out when the Dealer was doing my Dyno Tune they backed my bike & that saddle bag hit into another bikes exaust pipe & gouged it so a month later it was replaced anyway at the dealers cost.

I'm nervous now... just tonight I put a new shield on my '11 SESG and about a square inch of paint came right off from where the chrome windshield trim piece is.  I was super careful and did not pull... it's a bummer this happens on a high end bike.  How should I approach the dealer?
