I wouldn't spend a penny on it if you are going to keep the same cylinders. Unless you want to get a new head gasket every oil change!  ;)

Perhaps the head gasket leakage is a feature?  They could call it "Advanced, preemptive oil change technology!"  Just keep adding oil as it pours out so you never need to perform a conventional oil change.  :P

If you have a dirt driveway you could also oil our driveway as you drive to keep the dust down.  ;)

David;

Is this San Jose Harley or House of Blunder? I would be afraid, Very afraid. As others have said you cannot do a 113 to this engine without case work. Come see me i am right up the road from you in Hayward. Hannans Machine here in Hayward is who i use for the head work. Top notch work!

I can get Barrels from Rev Performance for the 110" motors.

Jim

Rev Perf just built my new cylinders. I saw them on the bike today and they looked very beefy. I ran by to reset the learned offsets on the TMax. Hopefully I can pick up the bike on Tuesday and put the MOCO disaster behind me. I hope I can remember how to ride the Ultra. I've been on the RGlide too long I fear!  8)

UPDATE:

The dealer is going to warranty the work done! (Thank God)

The problem was that both cylinder liners had slipped down about .003 inches and unseated the head gaskets. Apparently this is common for the '08 CVO 110" engine, especially now that the '08s have a few more miles showing up on them, these issues are showing up more and more.

So they are ordering new cylinders (I know, I know, but I can't afford aftermarket cylinders right now.) I am sending my heads to BC Gerolomy in Sacramento to be surfaced and have a little head work done on them, with new springs and valve guides.
The new cylinders from Harley will also come with new pistons, rings, base gaskets, and head gaskets.

So, all in all, it should only cost me to do the headwork.

I wish I had the money to put new aftermarket cylinders on the bike, but I don't right now.
Of course, if I had the money, I would just put in a new crank and everything from the bottom up. But then people in hell want ice water too....

So there is the update, so far.....

By the way, Hannans is not doing Harley head work any longer. I just talked to them.

That's who just did my head work. These liners slipping seem to be causing most of the problems. This fix may buy you 6-10k more miles. I let them rebuild my top end twice before I gave up and went the after market route. Good luck.
