Buddys bike lift (home made)
« on: June 14, 2005, 01:29:36 AM »

A friend of mine lost his right leg ,on a ride we were on 2 years ago. He built a lift that he can ride on to when pulling into his garage. Lift turns 360, and recesses into slab.-AK

Now if only they could make a reasonably priced combo lift and pit!  A lift that normally sits level with the garage floor and can raise the Bike but also recesses down about 6' so you have a pit to work on the truck...

before ya throw a couple things away in that (garage) let me know - I may ask ya to donate them to goodwill  [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] at least you will know where all those missing clips - bolts - screws will land - I will have to dig a hole under my lift and sweep everything in there - and when I spill my beer it will have a place to drain to, very cool  [smiley=laugh.gif]

I'm envious of your buds flush mounted floor lift. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

WFP,

If the lift rises, say 3' high from floor grade from a 6' pit your talkin bout a Hydralic cylinder with 9' of travel. That would mean a 15 foot deep hole to install the thing in. That would be quite a set up.

Send photos when you get it done. I want to see it.

go to cycledry - or I will try to post pics of my lift that is scissor style I only paid $325 for it - look straight into the primary and you can dig all the stuff from the "red" bikes from the bottom of the bike as ya ran over them as you passed them  [smiley=1syellow1.gif] [smiley=1syellow1.gif] very cool lift - the platform had turn screw stabalizers to lift wheels off the ground for work in progress - when unscrew when bike is off and roll it around unitll the next time ya have to dig "red" stuff off your bike  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]
